Minimalist Lifestyle

While minimalism, as we know it today, is an American movement, the ideas and philosophy behind it are ancient. Buddhist monks and Catholic nuns have been practicing an extremely minimalist lifestyle for centuries and owned the bare essentials only.

A minimalist prefers the minimal amount or degree of something.

The true essence of a minimalist lifestyle is determining what provides us the most value in life and removing everything that is simply excess. It works on the concept that less is more. Minimalist living is about intention. You make room and time in your life for the things you love and eliminate everything that distracts you from them.

How to become a minimalist Summary
  1. Set your rules for minimalism. Minimalism is different for everyone. …
  2. Start with a clean slate. As much as we all hate to admit it, there are some items in our homes that are just junk. …
  3. Use it or lose it. …
  4. Organize items by category. …
  5. Ask yourself the hard questions. …
  6. Minimize space. …
  7. Bring in less.

What are the benefits of being a minimalist?

Less is more. What we don’t usually realize is that when we reduce, we reduce a lot more than just stuff.

 Digital Detoxification

We are the most comfortable generation in terms of the amenities we have. We miss someone just a call apart, want to eat something just a click away. But are we the most joyful or satisfied generation yet. Or in other words, we are the most stressed generation. The stress is not coming from the reason that we have everything but from the fact that our expectation from life has changed. Our perspective about life has changed.

Our activities are drawn not by our ends but by trends. We click images to keep the memories intact but how many times do we see those pics again. The worst scenario is when people are sitting together but are engaged in phones, they are the same people who feel lonely and later blamed that society has changed. A funnier fact is people click and share their daily routines, regular food following celebrity trends. The harmful effect of all this comes when people start comparing. Meditation

If you have waited a long time to start your meditation journey New year is perfect time to step into this side of your life full of serenity.

Meditation is a simple way of freeing your mind, forgetting about daily anxieties and focusing on mental relaxation. Going into a meditative state involves learning to become a passive observer of one’s thoughts. It does not mean suppressing them or attempting to force them to disappear.

Meditation can be defined as a set of techniques that are intended to encourage a heightened state of awareness and focused attention. Meditation is also a consciousness-changing technique that has been shown to have a wide number of benefits on psychological well-being.

We all have heard about meditation. Some believe it as science, some as a part of spiritual growth and few consider it just a religious act.

You can meditate in many ways, and there’s no single “correct” approach. Types of Meditation – Which is Best for you – Detailed Guide.

Fasting

Fasting has been an integral part of many religions. It is now Long forgotten tradition which is scientifically significant. Fasting is Known as different names under different religions to name a few Hinduism it is known as Vrat, Jainism practices Parushan month, the Jewish and Muslim observances of Yom Kippur and Ramadan includes practicing of fasting as a ritual. Buddhism also promotes fasting for meditation purpose. Lets discuss FASTING AND ITS BENEFITS.

There are different types of fasting 12 hr fast, 16 hr fasting once a day, intermittent fasting water fasting. even people fast for 7 days, 10 or 15 days. It depends on your body, what your goal is, and most important what suits you. My personal experience and science also back with evidence that 24-hour water fasting with zero-calorie intake is beneficial for the mind and body when done on a consistent basis. Why consistency is important? Because initially it will hard for you mentally and physically to do but once you gain consistency the body adjusts and you no longer feel hunger pangs. The brain won’t get any kind of anxiety.

Fasting can bring actual changes to your body, removing both physical and spiritual toxins and impurities. Purifies and strengthens your soul.

Gratitude writing

Gratitude means thankfulness, Gratitude writing simply means writing down things you are thankful for in life. This One habit that will change your attitude towards life.

“Give thanks for a little and you will find a lot” ~Hausa Proverb

Journaling is a great way to practice mindfulness and connect with your thoughts and feelings. Research shows that expressing gratitude (being thankful for people and situations) can improve your physical and mental health. So, keeping a gratitude journal can be a huge boost for your well-being.

Gratitude journals are not unlike the diary you kept as a teenager, but instead of writing random thoughts about your day, you write about the things you’re grateful for—big or small.

What are the things you can write in a journal?

The answer is literally, anything.

Sometimes it’s okay even if the only good thing that happened or you did today was breathing.

It matters a lot.

So this section is short, anything that made you happy or you are grateful for. Your gratitude journal or log is personal that must be unique to you and your life.

Be grateful. Be happy.

No one can tell you what makes the cut for you and your particular circumstances.

Self-Care

We discuss Self Care most but focus is less and practice it rarely. Do make 2023 year of Self Care.

The important thing to remember is that self-care and admiring yourself is not selfish, so relieve yourself of any guilt you have about taking the opportunity to devote yourself to destressing and developing yourself up. Even if you only have 10-15 minutes a day to dedicate to your wellbeing, it will make a big difference in helping you to rejuvenate the mind, body, soul connection.

“The Western workplace culture — exported to many other parts of the world — is practically fueled by stress, sleep deprivation, and burnout. This is profound — and negatively — affecting our creativity, our productivity, and our decision making: the very things entrepreneurs need to succeed.” Arianna Huffington

Reading

Why you should start Reading Books: Benefits

Thinking provides knowledge – Knowledge makes you great.”

Manifestation

“Manifestation is simply the process of making an intention real. It’s about taking something that’s just an idea in your mind and calling it into this physical plane.”

What do you want in life?

In short “Manifesting is intentionally creating what you want.”

In relation to our lives, the process is as simple as we think and draw a picture or story for our future life and guide our mind to bring that to reality.

When you believe in something, focus on it and visualize it, you change how you see the world and how you perceive others. You open yourself to receiving and recognizing opportunities and possibilities.

The Universe responds to your vibes and offers opportunities to those who are open to receive them.

Manifestation is where your thoughts and your energy can create your reality.

How to Manifest Anything
  1. Decide what is it that you want.
  2. In your imagination, create a clear mental image of what you want.
  3. Focus on this image with faith and love.
  4. Treat the mental image as reality.
  5. Believe and act as if you have already achieved your goal, or being in the process of achieving it.
  6. Ask the Universe for guidance, and believe that it is attracting what you want into your life.

Your attitudes and beliefs about yourself and the world around you are what actually create your life!

Make a Vision Board

This is my 2023 resolution. I made an earlier but that doesn’t capture all I want in my life.

Put simply: It’s a visual representation of your goals. These typically poster-sized visuals, contain all kinds of images and text that represent something you’re trying to accomplish.

The idea of a vision board is that it is a visual representation of what we want to achieve. We can use it to show our end goal and where we see ourselves being in the future. Not only this, but a vision board will also help you show the process of how you envisage getting to these end goals.

Use Your Vision Board as a Road MapMaking the vision board is just the beginning! Now it’s time to use it as a guide and road map into your new future.
There are so many ways you can do this such as:

– Create an action plan for your goals (and then take action!)
– Review your board as you create it whether it’s your to-do list for the day or week
– Journal about the goals depicted on the board
– Practice visioning exercises (closing your eyes and imagining the achievement of your goal)
– Get support in the areas you know you would benefit from it.
