Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise.

A proverb we have been listening to from our childhood. 100, 1000 articles on the internet and 1000s of youtube video states benefits of getting up early.

Almost all successful legends get up early. But then also we are searching for more reasons to leave our bed early.
So here I am with some additional reasons and few hacks, so get ready to install this new habit into your routine. Trust me all you need is to read this article and apply it step-by-step, which is very easy only if you are willing to.
I am just like you spent 25 years thinking I am a night owl. But its a misconception, less than 5% of the population is naturally a night owl and well rest of us are early risers. There are medical, psychological, and spiritual benefits. Improved brain waves frequency, alpha theta waves, better neuron functioning, telomere regeneration etc etc the benefits are countless in every area. But I am not a scientist or spiritual guru so I will list out benefits I have experienced.

Benefits of rising up early…

The morning air is fresh and you will enjoy the quiet environment without the noise and pollution of vehicles. It is a view you would love to step out of bed every morning once you have experienced it.
The sunrise view. Oh my! there is no better way to start your day than by watching the rising sun. It is medically advised to get morning sunlight and just after a week you can experience the quality of skin and hair getting better. Also what can be a better source of vitamin D than the natural sun.

When you get up early you never miss morning workout sessions. In fact, a morning walk is one of the best workouts, automatically the obesity is kept in check. For the first few days, you may feel tired but after that, you will feel your energy level for the whole day is higher.

I started meditating as I got up early and that is life-changing. If you are not meditating you must start it tomorrow, it is not like 100 1000s of people propagate it for nothing. Though you can do it anytime during the day but morning time is the best time for meditation.

As I got up early I got extra peaceful time to complete my job, and since it’s quieter and our brain efficiency is higher, it required lesser time to do the job and I became more organised with time. I was no more rushing to complete my targets, even there are many days where I get my job well in advance.

And most important, I got more time and better quality time to spend with my family the rest of the day. Since I have more energy and have completed my tasks in the morning I spent more and more time with my family and in turn, my relations got better. My mind was quieter, anxiety level was low even zero most of times. We all earn for a good life. Our family, our kids deserve our undivided attention.


Let me give you one more reason, you can have a relaxed nutritious breakfast. Many of us miss the most important meal of the day because of rush, but no more if we adapt to rise with the sun. You get time to cook and eat a hearty breakfast. Enjoy it with your loved ones.

All the benefits I stated were simply the ones you can experience immediately in a week.

How to install this new habit…

If you are convinced now let us move on to how you can install this new habit.

First and foremost go to bed early, because rising early not all means depriving the body of sleep. Oh, you can’t sleep early. How about keeping your gadgets aside 1 hour before bed, not watching tv, and dimming the lights. Not sure, try this tonight.
Also, don’t take long naps during the day this is also one reason you can’t sleep early. Don’t blame love always!!!

Set only 1 alarm and Keep your alarm at a distance so you get up to switch it off. Try to buy an old-school mechanical one. Snooze is a major reason we miss our routine.

I created a rewarding program for myself which I still follow. I love coffee and I drink coffee only if I got up at 5. If I failed to get up I miss my coffee for the day. You can have your personal customised rewarding program. It can be your favourite snack, or episode of the series you wanted to watch.

The next best way to get up early is to find a partner. Most successful ventures are a partnership. This journey can become a habit if you find a partner with whom you can go on a walk or simply who will call over to check if you got up. When you are more responsible when you are accountable.

Make arrangements in your bedroom to let natural light in. Our body adapts to the natural cycle with sun. Being in sync with the nature is something that leads us to higher quality of life.

You can work on your hobby and passion in the morning time so you look forward of doing something interesting in morning.

Once you get into this habit of getting up early it becomes a way of life. You automatically go to bed in time and rise and shine.

Yoou also need to incoporate habit of eating light for maintaining healthy sleep cycle.

Like the trunk of the tree that holds a tree, a woman is the center of a family, change in her habits leads to changes in the family. Kids see and learn, be a role model for them to inculcate this winner habit. The whole family is more organized and slowly you see all family members contribute time and energy to home and take better care of themselves.

I got rid of my thyroid issue and kept my weight in check. I can vouch that with time your mental health will improve and your quality of work.
